How we have helped
EAPL
IT CONSULTANCY FOR KENT MARINE COMPANY
EAPL supports the highly skilled labour requirements of the marine industry and has recently extended its services to accommodate the industrial and construction sector.
EAPLÂ operate in the marine and industrial sectors and are a long-term client of Akita.
Our relationship began when we were able to provide EAPL with IT consultancy relating to cloud computing. The company had an existing and under-performing onsite server solution that was in desperate need of modernisation. As Akita’s technical staff are expert providers of IT consultancy in Kent, we were able to devise a strategy for improving and scaling the company’s IT systems.
Our consultants reviewed EAPL’s current IT setup, infrastructure and processes. Based on the outcome of this review and based on the requirements outlined by EAPL’s stakeholders, Akita devised a new IT solution that would be scalable to the company’s needs.
Our solution was to successfully migrate EAPL away from in-house hardware to Akita’s own virtual infrastructure. This involves transferring EAPL’s data into Akita’s cloud environment (delivered by our secure data centre setup).
As a result of the migration, system performance and reliability were dramatically improved, with all users noticing a significant uplift in speed. The migration also eradicated the system-wide downtime and significantly improved the reliability of their setup.
The infrastructure and network improvements were underpinned by ongoing IT support and proactive maintenance visits. These site visits help to minimise the number of ongoing issues requiring IT support, as well as fostering a close working relationship and enabling our staff to develop a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs.
Our primary services for EAPL now focuses on providing our responsive telephone and remote IT support to all staff, regardless of their location or their time zone. However, our proactive IT support continues to help EAPL find new IT efficiencies for their setup, reducing downtime from arising through taking preventative steps.
