Precision Technology Supplies is a Sussex-based importer and distributor of stainless-steel fastenings and precision-tuned parts.
With a workforce of 40 and operations spanning warehousing and sales, had been managing its IT internally.
As the company had grown, IT was developing without central oversight or long-term strategy and decreasing time for the internal team to address issues.
Connectivity was also a particular pain point. Both the company’s office and warehouse had weak and unreliable internet access. The existing phone system also lacked a degree of flexibility.
The business recognised it could not afford to carry these issues, particularly with a planned office move on the horizon.

Our Strategy
Connectivity & Infrastructure Overhaul
With a relationship established, Akita helped create a strategic IT technology plan to support the office and warehouse relocation.
We first addressed the company’s long-standing internet issues by implementing improved connectivity to the new site. This provided the bandwidth and reliability the organisation had been lacking.
High-performance wireless access points were also installed across both the office and warehouse spaces to ensure complete coverage across the business – important for consistent operations and to support the company’s use of barcode scanners.
Server & Hardware Migration
Akita also managed the complete relocation of the company’s server and associated networking equipment.
The hardware migration was timed outside of core business hours to ensure a smooth transition and no loss of data or system availability.
Office 365 Migration
As part of a broader shift to more flexible, cloud-based working, Akita migrated the organisation’s users to Microsoft 365. This enabled secure access to email, collaboration tools and shared documentation across devices – supporting hybrid working and improving internal collaboration. The migration was carefully staged to ensure zero downtime, with user training and onboarding provided to support adoption.
Modern Telephony
The existing phone system was replaced with a cloud-hosted VoIP solution, removing the limitations of on-premise telephony and enabling greater scalability and cost-efficiency.
Staff now benefit from call routing, voicemail-to-email, and softphone functionality – all accessible from any location.
All of these strategic IT improvements, alongside IT support, has assisted Precision Technology to focus on its business and continue to develop its technology in line with business goals.
