Supporting Small Business with Mobile Engineers

In 2011, Akita were contacted by Metroline Security who were disillusioned with the poor performance of their Microsoft Small Business Server which had only been installed two year previously. Following an initial site survey, it was clear that the specification of the server was insufficient for the business and running databases, file management, and email on the same Small Business Server was putting too much load on an under-spec’d server.
Akita were subsequently awarded with a contract to take over the ongoing IT support and administration of the IT systems. Once Microsoft Exchange was removed from the server and the organisation was moved over to a hosted email solution, immediate performance improvements were realised which allowed staff to work more effectively.
Further developments have included the mitigration to a fully hosted server, allowing users to benefit from the speed and resilience of a bespoke cloud solutions. As a fire and security specialist operating a 24/7 call out service, office staff and mobile engineers are particularly dependent upon the availability of their industry software (Alarm Master) and moving into the cloud has provided Metroline with a far more secure and better-performing systems.
