Lead Cyber Security Consultant
As a Lead Cyber Security Consultant at Akita, you will:
- Lead the development and growth of Akita’s Microsoft 365 security product stack, including:
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Defender suite
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Information Protection, data retention & data labelling
- Cloud app security and secure access controls
- Manage the commercial success of the security portfolio: pricing, packaging, positioning, and profitability.
- Oversee delivery and improvement of MSP security services, including:
- Managed Detection & Response (MDR)
- SaaS security monitoring (e.g., ConnectWise)
- User Awareness Training platforms
- Act as subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 security, providing guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement, monitor, and optimise client security solutions.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously evaluating and improving Akita’s managed security offerings.
- Support sales and account management teams with pre-sales consultancy, proposals, and client workshops.
- Support GRC functions within the group by developing and delivering governance, risk, compliance, and assurance services, ensuring alignment between MSP security offerings and advanced consultancy solutions.
CORE SKILLS
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 cloud security solutions (Defender, Intune, Endpoint, Azure AD).
- Strong experience with IAM, PIM, MFA, MDM, and DLP technologies.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Microsoft 365 compliance and security features.
- Understanding of SaaS monitoring tools such as ConnectWise and MDR platforms.
- Knowledge of governance and compliance frameworks (Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Experience in product development and commercial management within an MSP environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to align security products to business needs.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Security/Cybersecurity related degree.
- Experience working at an MSP in a technical capacity.
- Cyber Essentials Assessor Status
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
- Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
- Microsoft Security Operations Analyst (SC-200)
- Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300)
