Salary :- Depending on experience
Start date :- Immediately
Full time :- Permanent Contract of Employment
Hours :- 8:45am – 5:15pm (Monday – Friday)
Holiday Entitlement :- 32 days (including the 8 bank holidays)
Contractual Sick Pay :- Commencing after 6 months’ continuous employment
Education Requirement :- Educated to at least GCSE standard, including Maths and English
Qualifications :- AAT qualifications not essential

Experience :- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper


Having experienced rapid company growth, we are now looking for a confident and outgoing individual to join our team on a permanent, full time basis in the capacity of Accounts Assistant, reporting directly into the Head of Finance/HR Manager. The main purpose of the position is to work closely with our existing accounts and administration department and assist in providing comprehensive support to our IT team with all areas of accounts and administration.

The role as Accounts Assistant is to help ensure the smooth running of the accounts department. The role will be very varied.

The responsibilities of the position may include but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities

• Raising Invoices in CRM package via emails
• Chasing engineers for information
• Transferring sales invoices from CRM into sage
• Debt collecting
• Posting Supplier invoices from emails – filing appropriately
• Paying suppliers – posting payments in order book and accounting package
• Bank reconciliations
• Reconciling Barclaycard receipts with statement
• Expenses – reconciling receipts entering on salary spreadsheets and in accounts package
• Recognising errors in receipts – informing clients
• Cash flow – recognising if there is a problem
• Preparing salaries for outsourced company
• Paying salaries
• Completing salary spreadsheets (financial year and tax year) and posting journals in sage
• Spreadsheets re month end
• Journals re month end

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a solid level of knowledge of the following:-

• Proficient in Sage (new accounting package possibly coming soon)
• Know the principles behind book keeping
• Ability to be discreate
• Good Excel and outlook skills
